Roots, Reunions And Musical Mastery: Ed Roman Recaps Red Gorilla Music Fest From Austin, TX

with Antony Cook and Chris Taggart SXSWAfter driving more than 24 hours from Ontario, Canada to Austin, TX, Ed Roman and his bandmates, Chris Taggart (guitar) and Antony Cook (drums) performed to a sold-out, standing room only crowd at the Thirsty Nickel in Austin.  Ed’s March 18th performance was part of the Red Gorilla Music Fest, which is held at the same time as SXSW.  En route from Ontario, Ed and his entourage stopped in Slovak, Arkansas, where Ed visited the gravesite of some of his ancestors.  While in Austin, Ed was reunited with his long-lost cousin, Kathy, who traveled from Dallas, to watch Ed perform.

“Austin is Music and music is Austin,” said Ed, while on the road back to his home in Ontario, Canada. “Like a circuit cable of asphalt weaving its way through the belly of the USA, plugged into the city of Austin, the good people of Texas welcomed us with wide open arms. I am once again staggered by the amount of music and public support for music in this country.  What an amazing outpouring of appreciation from the listeners and now fans.. Special Ed Head shout out to Austin Texas, Red Gorilla Music and the good people in Texas. We love you folks. Thank you Chris Taggart and Antony Cook for all of their amazing friendship and musical support. You cats rock..60 hours in the car.  Talk about bonding!  It has also been an incredible reunion with family all over the US. Kathy…We can’t thank you enough for all of your love and support. Over and out Austin..”
